Jaxx, a Maltese dog from New York City, goes on a winter holiday with his parents to visit his Dad's sister, Aunt Lulu, in Barkhamsted, Connecticut, a quaint town in New England. Everything is a new adventure for Jaxx. He goes on a long train ride and leaves the big city for the first time. Jaxx misses the bright lights, busy streets and tall buildings. It takes a while for him to adjust to the quiet country. Jaxx makes new friends with a young boy named Colin, and Rufus, a gruff bulldog who lives next door to Aunt Lulu. Things take a strange turn when Aunt Lulu's cat Mikey, mysteriously disappears. Soon, other pets from town are gone without a trace.
