In 1300 the 'Cloister Map', a highly valued collection of detailed maps and sea charts, is stolen at sea. The rulers of Europe are desperate to find them, and when Wilhelm Von Paulents arrives in England apparently in possession of them, Hugh Corbett is sent to negotiate their sale.
