One night in a small town in County Cork, where everyone knows everyone, things spiral terrifyingly out of control. What will happen now to Emma? To her family? To the others? Adapted by Meadhbh McHugh, in collaboration with its director Annabelle Comyn, the play premiered at the Everyman, Cork, in June 2018, before transferring to the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. It was produced by Landmark Productions and the Everyman, in association with the Abbey Theatre. About the Author Louise O'Neill is an Irish author who writes primarily for young adults. Her books include Only Ever Yours and Asking For It , which won Book of the Year at the Irish Book Awards. Meadhbh McHugh is an Irish playwright. Her plays include Helen and I (Druid Theatre, 2016) and a stage adaptation of Louise O'Neill's novel Asking For It (Everyman Theatre, Cork, & Abbey Theatre, Dublin, 2018). Annabelle Comyn is an Irish freelance theatre director, artistic director of Hatch Theatre Company and Director in Residence at The Lir, National Academy of Dramatic Arts, Ireland. She has directed for The Abbey Theatre, The Gate Theatre and Dublin Theatre Festival among others. In 2013 she won Best Director at Irish Times Theatre Awards for her production of The House by Tom Murphy.
