Once You Pass the Gates You Are Someone Else. An ethnographic journey into the lives of former inmates \n \n What does release from prison mean to you? It’s as if I am reborn. I don’t know. I don’t have words to express it. I’ve waited for this for so long. I don’t know and I hope, I don’t hope, I will surely change and I am changed from the moment I walk out the prison gate, I will leave out all my slangs, all my expressions from here, I leave them here, and outside I am somebody else (SG, before release).
